This course will provide you an overview of the planning process and requirements for Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS).  This course provides you resources to develop your CEDS or manage a consultant working on your CEDS.  Perfect for those with little or no experience with CEDS, but also a good refresher for those who do have some experience.  In addition to the fundamental requirements and process, this course also discusses how to develop a CEDS that is more engaging and inclusive.

• INTRODUCTION TO CEDS: Welcome to the Sagax Associates Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy course!
• CEDS OVERVIEW & PLANNING PROCESS: We will provide you an overview of comprehensive economic development strategies as well as the strategic planning process that will allow you to transfer the skills from this course to other strategic plans.
• ROADMAP TO S.W.O.T: This class will explain the roadmap to your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats assessment through background research, data analysis, and various methods of stakeholder engagement.
• ACTION PLAN & STRATEGIC PLAN: You will learn how strategic plans and action plans work together under the CEDS framework and how to incorporate project prioritization in these plans.
• PLANNING & RESILIENCE: You will learn why resilience is important and how to incorporate it into your CEDS.
• FORMAT & PREPARATION: We will provide recommendations on how to format and prepare engaging, inclusive, and interactive CEDS.
• CEDS ALIGNMENT: In this lesson you will learn leading practices on aligning and/or integrating (and the difference between those two terms) federally funded plans, statewide plans, regional plans, etc. with the CEDS and why it is so important.
• EVALUATION FRAMEWORK: On this final course, you will learn how to develop measurable outcome metrics to evaluate the progress of executing goals and recommendations in your Action and Strategic Plan under the CEDS framework.
