Sagax Associates has been busy this summer with several updates and features for you this quarter as we end the federal fiscal year, prepare for ARPA grants, and wait in anticipation for the pending Infrastructure Bill:
- Thrilled to announce a new contract with the Virgin Islands Research Tech Park where we will provide technical assistance for funding opportunities and facilitate Governor Bryan’s Restart Task Force.
- We also are excited to announce that we have been awarded a contract with the Southeastern Connecticut Enterprise Region to update their Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.
- And Sagax has signed a contract and we are now working with EY (Ernst & Young) on economic development strategies nationwide.
- Kirsten McGregor, Founder & Principal, will be providing technical assistance with the University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration Recover Delaware Roundtable for Delaware’s municipal leaders to support recovery funding strategies supported by the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) on September 30.
- Sagax Associates has created a livestream platform called “Resilience Roundtables” on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube. Guests have included Troy Mix from the University of Delaware and Colleen Kendrick from Kendrick and Co. and Rowan University. Greg Guannel, the US Virgin Islands Hazard Mitigation & Resilience lead, will be talking to Kirsten September 29. There are several interviews with guest speakers pending and please reach out to us if you would like to be a part of one of our roundtable discussions.
- FEMA’s Resilient Nation Partnership Network featured a Sagax Associates blog piece on Economic Recovery & Resilience Planning in Post-Pandemic on capacity building and strategic planning in their August Resilient Nation Roundup newsletter.
- The University of Delaware Island Policy Lab, where Sagax Associates’ Principal serves as a policy advisor, has featured our current work in their September newsletter to be released later this month. Sign up for their newsletter here.
- We wrapped up a 30-month-long contract providing ongoing comprehensive Economic Recovery & Resilience consulting in the US Virgin Islands for the US Economic Development Administration and FEMA.
- The EDO Marketplace, featured Sagax Associates in their newsletter, marketed our Resilience Roundtable Session with Troy Mix, and posted the announcement on our Principal’s second year appointment as senior fellow to the University of Delaware.
- Sagax Associates is now a proud member of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.
Kirsten McGregor, Founder & Principal of Sagax Associates, has several updates to announce including appointments, speaking engagements, and recognitions:
- The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) has appointed Kirsten to their Foundation Research Committee and she will be meeting with the committee at the National Conference scheduled for October in Portland, Oregon.
- The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Design, Kirsten’s alma mater, has an Urban Planning Studio and this year’s class will focus on sea level rise with a specific focus on the USVI. Kirsten has facilitated local USVI strategic partnerships for Penn’s studio and she will be a guest lecturer for the class on September 17.
- Thinkers 360 and Carbon Negative Alliance ranked Kirsten as #14 in their “Top 20 Renewable Energy International Thought Leaders” this month.
- The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is hosting a webinar on resilience and sustainability pending November 4 with Kirsten, David Alderson, Professor in the Operations Research Department & Founding Director of the Center for Infrastructure Defense at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).and moderated by Alexa Stone, President of EcoPreserve.
- Kirsten was a guest speaker on two podcasts this past August: The Mom Shuffle and Thought Leader Path.
- The University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration appointed Kirsten to a second year as a senior fellow to support their economic recovery initiatives with Recover Delaware.
- Franklin & Marshall College, Kirsten’s alma mater, has appointed her to their Alumni Leadership Council which meets on-campus in Lancaster September 30- October 1.
- LinkedIn has authorized Kirsten to hold livestream posts where she posts live talking points through a studio platform that syncs to Facebook and YouTube as well. Previous live sessions, including the Sagax Associates Resilience Roundtables livestream interviews, are saved on our YouTube site.
